A book trailer for YA author Sarah Alderson’s highly anticipated release – The Sound.

“When aspiring music journalist Ren Kingston takes a job nannying for a wealthy family on the exclusive island of Nantucket, playground for Boston’s elite, she’s hoping for a low-key summer reading books and blogging about bands. Boys are firmly off the agenda.

What she doesn’t count on is falling in with a bunch of party-loving private school kids who are hiding some dark secrets, falling (possibly) in love with the local bad boy, and falling out with a dangerous serial killer…”

Directed by Soma Helmi. Shooting in March, 2014 in Bali.

No compensation, however food and transportation in Bali will be covered.

No experience necessary.

Who we are looking for:

17 almost 18. Dark haired. British. An every girl.

From the UK, Ren has taken a summer job nannying in the US for the summer. She has zero child-care experience and is hoping she can blag her way through it without being found out.

Ren’s insecure but manages for the most part to shrug it off.  Her wry humor helps.

Her sarcasm isn’t understood by the preppy prepster US kids around her. She’s naturally curious and not coming from a very wealthy background herself feels a little out of her depth around the mega-wealthy private school kids she meets.

She has a fierce sense of right and wrong and a sometimes questionable determination to stand her ground.

JESSE – lead

19, dark haired, dark eyes. Ripped body. From the outside he looks like your stereotypical bad boy or boy band member. In fact, he plays guitar in a band.

Jesse has just spent a year in Juvie for beating the crap out of one of the private school kids who summer on the island.

Jesse’s a local boy. He works in his dad’s bike and tackle shop. He’s got a reputation for being the silent, brooding type but underneath the vengeance fuelled outer layer is a sensitive, book-reading, funny, romantic and sweet guy. He just doesn’t let anyone see it any more.

18 years old. Think deck shoes, Polo shirts, and an air of someone who knows he’s going to Yale and then on to Harvard Business School before taking a job at his father’s law firm.

Entitled, but mainly managing to ride the line between arrogant and charming. His old-money confidence and above average good looks make him popular with the girls and boys. He wins Ren around with his gentlemanly behavior, which it turns out is all an act, given that he and his friends are in competition to see how many girls they can each score in one summer.

SOPHIE – supporting — ALREADY CAST!

18 years old. A local girl from Nantucket, USA.
