Well, it’s official. My videos are going up on FashionTV!

I had an email a couple of weeks back from their content editor asking if I would be interested in sending them my fashion films, and being suspicious of net spam, I didn’t let myself get too excited. I sent a polite reply asking where they had seen my work, basically just to test if it was some kind of bot, and to my surprise she replied, saying she’d seen it on Vimeo, here are the terms, blah blah blah. Woohoo! I sent my stuff and didn’t hold my breath, I figured they’d get thousands of hopeful filmmakers sending them their work. But lo and behold! Only a few days later, the first of my films – Juwita Malam by Tulola – was uploaded! Another moment of celebration…Alright, I jigged about on my bed. Very dignified. And then, less than a week later, another was released – Nagicia.

Now I have to make more, more, more!

New Short Film: Out of Time

My latest short film, starring the ever patient and brilliant Isaac Lubow. This is pretty much how I feel every time I make a script or movie. The ending…not so much every time.

New short film: LIES

I was feeling a little bit melancholy about the time it was taking to produce Mermaids. So many complications, people leaving the country, crew going awol etc etc. It was all getting a bit much and I just had an itch to make a short, now! I decided to sit down and write something quickly and shoot it asap.

Through my writing, I’ve been exploring some of the themes/emotions/scenarios that both men and women have experienced in their relationships. Mermaids is all about love, devotion and pillars of strength. LIARS is most definitely not. I wanted to purge some of the negativity that I’ve had in past relationships. And this is what I ended up with.

I have to thank my wonderful friends who helped make this happen. Isaac Lubow, my lovely boyfriend, who is thankfully nothing like the male character. Mila Shwaiko for her great camera work. Carolina who is a first time actress but you would NEVER guess, Sid for taking the time in his busy schedule to act in a such a teeny project, Ernest for the knockout grading. And last but definitely not least, someone who took time from his incredible job of editing some of the coolest films around – Joe Walker, editor extraordinaire – who with a few pages of scribbled notes brought the film up to a level I am super proud to show off. IMDB him, now.

New Short film – Reload

Found a short film that I had been working on for a while – shot it in July before going to London. Finally got around to finish editing it and am publishing it for all to see. About: a man, a beige office and a magic click.
